Swedish Massage Course
£400
(2 days)

This accredited two-day course, approved by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM), provides comprehensive training in Swedish Massage, combining traditional Swedish techniques with effective deep tissue methods to deliver a professional, full-body treatment. Designed for non-qualified therapists and Level 2 qualified therapists wishing to expand or enhance their skills, this course provides the knowledge and practical experience needed to perform a safe, effective, and relaxing massage.
The course includes a comprehensive online Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) module, which must be completed prior to the practical training. This covers the structure and function of the skin, muscles, skeletal system, circulatory and lymphatic systems, contraindications, consultation procedures, client care, health and safety, professional ethics, and the physiological effects and benefits of massage.
Over two practical training days, you will learn a complete full-body Swedish massage routine, including the back, back of the legs, front of the legs, feet, abdomen, arms and hands, décolleté, neck, face, and scalp. The course combines traditional Swedish massage movements—including effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, friction, and vibration—with carefully integrated deep tissue techniques to help relieve muscular tension while promoting relaxation and overall wellbeing.
Throughout the course, you will develop your practical skills through guided demonstrations and supervised practice, gaining confidence in treatment flow, body mechanics, pressure control, and adapting treatments to meet individual client needs.
By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to deliver a professional full-body Swedish massage treatment. Upon successful completion, you will receive an IPHM-accredited certificate, enabling you to obtain professional insurance (subject to your insurer's individual requirements) and begin offering Swedish massage treatments to clients.
